Love Romances #12
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA bus depot sets the scene for temptation and trouble in Love Romances #12, where a stylishly dressed man in a fedora eyes a young woman absorbed in her reading — the perfect snapshot of a chance encounter that could change everything. The cover teases two compelling tales: "Good-Time Charlie! An Adventure in Romance!" and the memorably titled "I Was a Scoundrel's Sweetheart!" — promising the kind of heartfelt drama this series delivered so well. Fifty-two pages of real romance for just a dime made this 1950 issue a genuine bargain for fans of the genre.

Anita is raised by repressive and disapproving step-parents who don't let her have a social life. She runs away from an all-women’s college and is “discovered” by photographer Danny, who makes her a top model. They plan to marry but her step-parents show up to stop the wedding. Danny discovers that Anita’s real mother and father died in a plane crash in 1933: if she didn’t marry by the age of 21, her guardians the Frosts would get the inheritance, hence their cruel behavior. Danny and Anita will wed.
