This anthology issue contains two stories. "No Love in the Bargain" follows a woman who hires an ambitious young man to help run her family's seaside business, only to find herself attracted to him despite his lack of interest in romance—a situation complicated when he pursues a theatrical career in New York with the help of an agent named Earl Tracy. The second story depicts a woman's infatuation with a glamorous man named Jack whom she encounters at social events; she fantasizes about a romantic life with him, but her dreams are shattered when she discovers he is already married to Georgia Thornton, and the two have merely been renewing old friendships at social gatherings.
