Love Everlasting #14
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA lonesome cowboy leaning against an office vending machine — coffee cup in hand, gun at his hip, fringed jacket very much out of place among the recycling bin and water cooler — says everything you need to know about where Love Everlasting has taken its lovelorn protagonist by issue fourteen. Tom King and Elsa Charretier's ongoing series continues to blend romantic yearning with wildly shifting genre settings, and Charretier's cover (beautifully colored by Matt Hollingsworth) captures that bittersweet absurdity perfectly: the speech bubbles drift from open prairie heroics to the quiet consolation that at least the coffee machine is free. It's a genuinely funny, quietly melancholy image that makes this 2024 issue hard to pass by on the shelf.
