The speech bubbles add a wry, bittersweet tension: the child cheerfully announces that her doll is destined to fall in love and marry, while the cowboy muses inwardly about being lost in his soul and wondering how much more it will take to be found. Tom King, Charretier, and Matt Hollingsworth continue their genre-bending romance odyssey with "Just West of Love," and this 2024 Image Comics installment promises the same sharp emotional undercurrent the series does so well.
