This issue is an anthology containing at least two stories. "Sight for Sore Eyes" follows a young woman named Carla who takes a vacation to the country after her boyfriend David disappoints her, where she encounters a handsome boxer named Ray Moore training at a nearby camp; Carla becomes infatuated with Ray while watching him train, but discovers he is only interested in her for the attention and adulation of the female spectators. "Plain Jane" depicts an older mother's concerns about her teenage daughter Janie's youth and fashion choices, as the mother reflects on her own missed opportunities and attempts to live vicariously through her daughter's coming-of-age experiences.
