Salesclerk Lila gets her way with men by pretending to be sensitive and easily-hurt. She tries this on Jim when he says he has to move to New York temporarily on business, but he won’t change his plans and departs. Lila dates fellow worker Barry and is offended and hurt when he helps Terry with her ice skating routine. Barry, tired of her self-pity and refusing to be guilt-tripped anymore, breaks up with Lila. Lila realizes she didn’t think of how her sensitivity made others feel. She apologizes to Barry and they reconcile.
