“Home Sweet Stars”

In "Home Sweet Stars," Jaime Hernandez paints a quiet, dreamlike evening as Hopey drops by Maggie’s Capri Apartments at three in the morning, sparking a tender, drifting conversation. Through a blur of memory and possibility, the two women share a rooftop moment that blurs reality—Alarma’s sudden leap from the building’s edge, a fleeting glimpse of Angel, and a night that winds through a bartending shift and the quiet focus of study. Jaime Hernandez’s distinctive art and storytelling bring the intimate rhythm of everyday life into something quietly magical.

Hopey visits Maggie at her Capri Apartments location at three o'clock in the morning and catches up on things. In what may or may not be a dream sequence, they get on the apartment rooftop and catch Alarma in her superhero outfit leaping off the second floor roof to the ground. Hopey then meets Angel, goes to her bartending job and then goes home to study.
