After three days in the courtroom, Jill is found not guilty of murdering a wealthy woman patient, who had died from an overdose of drugs. She thinks her career as a nurse is over, but she receives a letter asking her to be the nurse for a rich, elderly invalid. She would eventually learn that she could nearly be the double of the wife her nephew had divorced. Meanwhile, other family members plan to kill Aunt Miriam for her money, hoping to use Jill's past to help frame her for it.
