The opening volume of Bruno Dequier's football series kicks off with a cover full of youthful energy — a grinning, backpack-wearing boy flashes a victory sign while clutching a soccer ball, his muddy clothes hinting at a kid who plays with everything he's got. Published by Dupuis in 2013, Coup d'envoi ("Kickoff") sets the tone perfectly for what promises to be a spirited, warmhearted story about a young player with big dreams.
