Issue three of five in Steve Niles's haunted-house miniseries, and Glenn Fabry's cover makes the dread palpable — a shambling horde of decayed ghosts advances toward the viewer, led by a grotesque undead horse ridden by a long-haired specter, flanked by a blood-soaked zombie child in a white dress and a lurching elderly woman, with skulls and axe-wielding figures pressing in from behind. The tagline "Nobody Gets Out!" says exactly what the assembled dead seem to promise. Fabry's painted detail is deeply unsettling in the best possible way, and with Niles scripting the supernatural siege, this 2013 Mature-rated series earns every bit of its creepy reputation.
