A young Loki scrambles desperately across a sea of skulls while the terrifying, glowing-eyed Nightmare looms enormous behind him — all wild hair, clawed hands, and a razor-sharp grin that fills the upper half of the cover. The tagline "King No More? What a Nightmare!" makes it clear that the God of Mischief is in deep trouble by issue three of this 2019 series from writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Oscar Bazaldúa Nava. Cover artist Ozgur Yildirim brings real menace to the composition, balancing Loki's frantic energy against Nightmare's overwhelming presence in a way that makes this one hard to pass up.
