Logan: Black, White & Blood #4

The fourth and final issue of this stark Marvel anthology series closes out with a cover by Dan Panosian that says everything you need to know about Logan's world — the man himself strides forward bristling with arrows and shuriken, claws extended and dripping red against an otherwise black-and-white backdrop, unbowed and utterly ferocious on a wooden bridge. The restrained color palette makes every splash of crimson hit that much harder, perfectly capturing the series' signature aesthetic. Ethan Sacks and Garry Brown deliver the interior goods with "The Monster in the Dark," rounding out a series that has leaned fully into Wolverine at his most raw and elemental.
