Little Miss Muffet goes fishing and catches unusually wriggling worms, prompting concern from adults around her. When she becomes ill, a doctor is called, and various mishaps ensue involving neighbors Miss Peach and the Jenkins family, as well as confusion about a telegram. Ultimately, Millie is taken in by a kindly couple (Eph and Madame Curall) who operate a hunting lodge, where she charms them into letting her stay permanently by cleaning their trailer and winning their affection. The story concludes with Millie's new guardians taking her to a diner, where she is recognized by someone from her past who remembers her as a resourceful child.
