Little Eva and her friend Nipper take an unexpected trip to Mars when Eva's new bed starts floating and a toy space outfit actually works—whisking them away to a peculiar alien world where the locals are fascinated and baffled by their earthling appearance. The Martian family wants to adopt them and "improve" their looks through drastic measures, but Eva and Nipper aren't keen on the planet's pill-based meals and strange customs. When things get too weird, the two friends make a hasty escape back home in search of the safety and comfort of Earth.

Little Eva convinces her friends to skip their trip to the lake when she hears her father is bringing home soda—but when he arrives with bicarbonate of soda instead, the kids' disappointment threatens to ruin the day. With quick thinking and a generous gesture, Eva's father turns what could've been an embarrassing mix-up into something that makes everyone forget all about the lake.

Little Eva dreams up quite the adventure when a magical ice cream cone—purchased with a found dime—refuses to stop growing, transforming her backyard into the town's hottest attraction. As word spreads and the cone becomes a sensation, Eva finds herself at the center of unexpected fame and fortune, complete with a visit from the mayor himself. But when morning breaks, Eva discovers that reality has a very different idea about how her day should unfold.
