After a scolding from his father, Little Archie flees home with his dog Spotty, setting off on a raft bound for Europe. When a passing ship destroys their raft, the two are left adrift in the fog, their desperate cries lost to the sea.

When Little Archie takes on a paper route to help his dad with money troubles, Fred’s attempts to squeeze a raise from the boss take a backseat—until illness forces him to step in and deliver the papers himself.
