Lion #78 is an anthology comic featuring three main stories: "Captain Condor: Space-Man Avenger," set in the year 3000, follows Captain Condor and his comrades as they attempt to capture a dictator's space battle cruiser by infiltrating what appears to be a freighter packed with outlaws; "The Iron Mask" depicts the masked hero and his gang on the Essex marshes planning greater criminal efforts while pursuing fugitives Dirk and Hal, leading to a confrontation at the Tower of London; and "Stormy Tate—Skipper of the Wheezy Anna" chronicles a race between the 10-knot cargo ship Wheezy Anna and the 20-knot steamer captained by Muller, with Stormy Tate determined to deliver cargo faster despite engine troubles and crew challenges. The issue also includes a "World-Wide Quiz" with various trivia and visual puzzles for reader participation.
