Lion #74 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. The lead story, "Captain Condor—Space-Man Avenger," follows a space pilot from the year 3000 who is outlawed by a ruthless dictator; Condor and his engineer Pete devise a plan to infiltrate the dictator's secret headquarters hidden in space, intercept a traitor's radio signal, and capture one of the dictator's most powerful space battle-cruisers. "Skipper of the Wheezy Anna" chronicles Stormy, the skipper of a cargo vessel, who must navigate his ship through treacherous waters toward Barrier Island while facing warnings of an approaching hurricane and pressure from a government agent demanding he proceed despite the danger. The issue also includes "The Secret Tunnellers of Calitz Camp," an adventure story told in pictures, plus a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with general knowledge questions about geography, history, and culture.
