This issue contains two stories. In the first, a young woman attends a Lotus Club party where punch spiked with liqueur causes chaos—the pastry explodes, guests go mad, and Linda must help clean up the disaster while forgiving a confession from a friend. In "Fashion Follies," a neighbor woman with a pistol confronts Linda on her birthday, claiming to be eighteen and lecturing her about proper conduct, but Linda accepts an invitation to a dance from a pilot named Chillie, and after initially declining, she agrees to go, ultimately deciding it's a turning point in her life.
