Lightning Comics #1 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. "The Raven" follows a masked crime-fighter as Chief Lash and police raid an underground gambling operation; the criminals escape through a trap door and underground passage, but the Raven apprehends them despite the chase. A second story features Marvo the Magician, who performs illusions at an orphanage benefit, including conjuring a ferocious man-eating lion illusion that astounds the audience. The third story presents Lugi, a superhuman fighter battling Queen Moletta on a ship; after intense combat where Lugi is injured, Congo Jack arrives to assist and they subdue their green-skinned adversary before the vessel lands.
