Li'l Genius thinks he's helping direct a crime movie when he and his friends accidentally find themselves coaching actual bank robbers on how to pull off a better heist—complete with "acting notes" on technique and timing. When real cops finally show up, the kids are thrilled they've been part of such convincing filmmaking, never realizing the crooks they were advising have just been arrested thanks to their meddling!
Eddie, a young newspaper seller, teams up with Detective Blake to help catch the notorious thief Slicker Msglick—but the detective has his own competitive game in mind, hoping to nab the crook before Sergeant Kelly does. When Blake enlists Eddie as his lookout while searching a closed joke shop, the boy's enthusiasm runs headlong into the shop owner's collection of trick gags, leading to a hilarious and unexpected turn of events. This 1958 humor story from Li'l Rascal Twins #12 proves that sometimes the best detective work comes with a side of slapstick.
