☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe issue contains two stories. In the first, the Lil' Rascal Twins encounter a man descending an escalator and attempt to sneak forward and trick him with ventriloquism. In the second story, "Rimbent's Masterpiece," a maestro refuses to show anyone his secret painting, but the twins manage to sneak peeks at his work while trying to keep their discovery hidden. Additionally, an illustrated text story recounts how Raro the Rabbit organizes a turtle shell checkerboard game that is disrupted by unexpected rain, ruining the paint work and leaving Mr. Chief Cloud bewildered by the colored rainwater.
Two youngsters pick up some novelty ape masks from a store and decide to put on a wild performance—complete with monkey calls and antics—just as their father arrives home. What starts as harmless fun quickly spirals into chaos when their mother tries to get them to behave, but the kids can't resist one more round of monkey business before the grown-ups put their feet down.
One of the Lil' Rascal Twins has built what they claim is a genuine rain-making machine, and they're convinced it works—so convinced they set out to sell it to the wealthy Mr. Van Checkbook. What follows is a hilariously chaotic demonstration that blurs the line between genuine invention and pure accident, leaving everyone (especially Mr. Van Checkbook) questioning what they've just witnessed.
One of the twins learns ventriloquism from a book sent by Uncle Harry and decides to have some fun using the trick on an unsuspecting stranger—but nothing seems to rattle the guy, no matter how many talking objects and animals they throw at him. When everything spirals into chaos in the park, the twins discover that Uncle Harry himself has been in town all along, and he's even better at throwing his voice than they are!
When two kids come up with the idea of starting a dog-walking service to earn money for milk, they quickly learn that their ambitions outpace their experience—a cat sends the dogs into a wild, muddy chase that leaves both the twins and their furry charges thoroughly disheveled. What looks like a disaster turns into an unexpected win when the lady whose dogs they were walking discovers the exercise has slimmed down her overweight pets just in time for a dog show.
Two youngsters decide to play-act as a married couple, but things take an unexpected turn when their audience mistakes their pretend quarrel for the real thing—leading to some quick thinking about what comes before matrimony, rascal-style.
