In *Letting It Go* (2013), Miriam Katin, the acclaimed cartoonist and Holocaust survivor, confronts a personal and generational rift when her son chooses to reclaim Hungarian citizenship and settle in Berlin. Through her own hand—writing, drawing, coloring, and lettering—she chronicles the emotional journey of visiting her son in the city of her past trauma, slowly navigating grief, memory, and the quiet possibility of release. The story culminates in her voluntary return to Berlin for the opening of a major exhibition featuring her art at the Jewish Museum, a moment of profound personal reckoning.
