Volume 8 of Les Vélo Maniacs from Bamboo Édition arrives with the series' signature slapstick charm firmly intact. The cover, by Julié and Garréra, drops our determined cyclist — still pedaling hard in full racing kit — into a rising tide, while two unfazed spectators float past on an inflatable raft waving a Breton flag and a warning sign that cheerfully reads "Attention Marée Montante," all as seagulls swoop chaotically overhead. It's the kind of absurd, sun-drenched coastal chaos that makes this French humor series such a pleasure, and 2012 finds it firing on all cylinders.
