Against a sunny yellow background, a robed wizard waves a magic wand at three small, cartoonish monsters — one red, one green, one blue — who shuffle along in a wonderfully bemused little procession. Michel Van Zeveren's cheerful, loose-lined art gives this 2018 Bayard Presse/Mimi BD Kids volume an irresistible playfulness, perfectly suited to its title Apprentis sorciers ("Apprentice Sorcerers"). A delightful read for young fans of mischief and magic in equal measure.
