This fifteenth volume of Shuzo Oshimi's Les Liens du Sang, published by Ki-oon Seinen in 2024, opens with an arresting image that feels deeply characteristic of his work: a massive, blue-toned eye rendered in fine pencil detail, its iris framing a young woman in a sailor-style uniform who stands before a pale, wind-swept landscape. The contrast between her delicate, almost serene expression and the enormous, watchful eye surrounding her creates an immediate sense of intimacy shadowed by something unsettling. Oshimi's ability to make a single image feel emotionally loaded is very much on display here, making this volume a compelling addition to the series.
