From Cardinali and Linck comes this French-language ensemble adventure from Éditions du Long Bec, and the cover alone promises something refreshingly offbeat. Five mismatched characters — a scrubs-wearing figure with a stethoscope at the center, flanked by a redhead in burgundy, a suited man with a distinctive hat, a woman in sunglasses and a flowing coat, and a stocky bearded fellow in a hospital gown — stride forward through a billowing, dust-choked cityscape, while a mysterious floating figure hangs luminously in the chaos above them. It's a 2014 ensemble with real personality baked into every character design, and the team dynamic already feels wonderfully unpredictable.
