A faceoff gets deliciously absurd in this 2016 Bamboo Édition volume of Les Hockeyeurs, subtitled Rondelle de gruyère — where the puck on the ice is quite literally a wheel of Swiss Meuhl cheese. The cover pits a lanky blue-and-white-clad player against a pair of stocky red-uniformed opponents sporting the Swiss cross, all rendered in the series' lively, rubbery cartoon style. It's a charming slice of hockey comedy that promises plenty of good-natured sport and fromage-fueled fun.
