Volume 3 of Shuzo Oshimi's Les Fleurs du Mal (Ki-oon) presents one of the series' most quietly unsettling cover images: a schoolgirl in uniform clutches a Japanese paperback edition of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal to her chin, tears streaming down her face, her expression caught between anguish and something harder to name. Flanking her are two stark, ink-black sunflowers with eerily eye-like centers, lending the white negative space around her a genuinely eerie quality.
