Paying tribute to the last surviving Compagnon de la Libération, this 2022 Grand Angle release from Bamboo Édition dedicates its sixth volume to Hubert Germain — whose commanding portrait looms large in the background of Alain Mounier's cover. In the foreground, armed soldiers in colonial-era French military dress advance with rifles raised, fire and smoke billowing dramatically behind them, evoking the wartime campaigns that defined Germain's remarkable story. Written by Jean-Yves Le Naour with art, inks, and colors all by Mounier, this is a finely crafted homage to a man who stood as the living symbol of Free France.
