Les chefs-d'œuvre de Lovecraft #10
Part of Ki-oon's celebrated Les chefs-d'œuvre de Lovecraft series, this first volume of Gou Tanabe's adaptation of "The Dunwich Horror" opens with a cover rendered in brooding sepia tones — a gaunt, long-bearded old man and a hunched, eerily withered figure flank a dark-eyed young boy before the weathered planks of a rural doorway, the whole tableau radiating an unsettling sense of wrongness. Tanabe's linework distills Lovecraft's atmosphere of rural dread into a single, quietly chilling image that needs no color to unsettle. A fine entry point into one of cosmic horror's most compelling manga interpretations, published by Ki-oon in 2023.
