Drawn in rich sepia tones, this first volume of Gou Tanabe's adaptation of Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness opens with a striking cover: a towering, anguished face looms above a swirling mass of strange, writhing creatures and jagged landscapes, while a small line of figures trudges through the chaos below. Ki-oon's 2018 French edition presents Tanabe's intricate linework to stunning effect, the warm amber palette giving the cosmic dread an almost ancient, engraved quality. If you have any appetite for beautifully crafted horror manga, this is a very fine place to start.
