Two figures — surely Blake and Mortimer — dash urgently through what appears to be a dramatic industrial or world's-fair setting, massive domed structures and towering pylons erupting in fiery orange chaos behind them. Les Sarcophages du 6e Continent (Tome 1) marks a compelling chapter in the long-running series created by Edgar P. Jacobs, here continued in 2003 by writer Yves Sente and artist André Juillard. The cover's vivid sense of scale and danger makes a convincing case that this is exactly the kind of globe-spanning adventure these two characters were made for.
