Les aigles décapitées #24
The twenty-fourth volume of Glénat's long-running medieval series Les Aigles Décapitées arrives in 2012 with a cover that immediately commands attention: a cloaked figure crouches small and vulnerable within the ruins of a stone archway, dwarfed by the enormous, looming shadow of a werewolf-like beast cast across the crumbling walls above. Michel Pierret's cover art uses that stark contrast of shadow and light to make "Le Château du Diable" feel genuinely ominous — the devil's castle promises to be a very unwelcoming place indeed. A striking entry in the series for fans of dark, atmospheric French historical comics.
