Part one of "Trauma" kicks off this 2018 Marvel Legacy series with a cover that puts David Haller front and center — literally perched atop an enormous stylized brain, one eye blazing with a starburst of psychic energy while he flashes a casual two-fingered gesture at the reader. Javier Rodríguez's cover art captures the character's unsettling mix of raw power and unpredictability beautifully, with that signature mohawk and red sneakers grounding the cosmic strangeness in something almost laid-back. If you've ever wanted a series that wears the complexity of one of Marvel's most psychically volatile mutants right on its sleeve — or, in this case, its cover — this is a very promising opening chapter.
