Left on Mission #3
"Interludes" in Left on Mission #3 (2007, Boom! Studios) delivers a quiet yet charged moment as Eric confronts his boss, David Glass, over the truth behind a story he was given—only to be reminded that uncovering the full picture isn’t his burden. As the boat cuts through the water toward Fes, memories of Emma surface, layered with the weight of her departure and the choices Eric now feels compelled to make. Written by Chip Mosher and illustrated with moody precision by Francesco Francavilla, with colors by Martin Thomas and Pablo Quiligotti, the issue’s atmosphere is as deliberate as its pacing. The cover by Steph Stamb captures the story’s brooding tone in a single, haunting image.

Eric meets with his boss, David Glass, and complains about how the story he gave him originally was not true. David tells him they never get the whole story and it is his not his job to question but to follow orders. Eric says he will do what he has to do no matter what. During the boat ride to Fes Eric thinks back to how he first met Emma and about how she left him.
