Leave It to Chance #3

Issue #3 of Leave It to Chance drops young Chance into a truly overwhelming situation — the cover shows her surrounded on all sides by swarming green creatures with bulging red eyes, while a vivid orange-and-yellow winged dragon swoops in from above, and a massive fish-creature lunges from the water below, claws already reaching for her. Paul Smith's linework crackles with energy, making the threat feel both enormous and wonderfully imaginative. Titled "Rain," this November 1996 Homage Comics entry is a reminder of why this series earned such affection — all-ages adventure with genuine stakes and a visual sense of fun that holds up beautifully.
