Binky's budget-minded summer vacation hits the water in this October 1956 issue from DC, with cover art by Bob Oksner showing our hapless hero water-skiing — sans actual water skis — while a girl in a red swimsuit wrap clings on beside him, the two of them being towed by a small pink motorboat. The speech bubbles capture the gag perfectly: Peggy wants to know where the water skis are, and Binky's sheepish reply makes it clear the boat rental already cleaned him out. Oksner's breezy, good-humored linework gives the whole sun-soaked scene an irresistible summer charm, and this issue also promises details on a Giant $5,000 Prize Contest inside.
