There's something wonderfully cozy about this March–April 1953 issue of Leave It to Binky, as the teen humor title captures a quintessential winter evening: Binky settled contentedly on a purple couch with a sleepy dog on his lap and a crackling fireplace at his feet, while a wide-eyed blonde companion sits beside him looking decidedly less charmed by his priorities. His speech bubble — "Ah — a winter night… a cozy fire… and a dog on your lap — what could be better!?" — says everything about Binky's endearingly oblivious charm, and sets up the light, relatable comedy DC's teen comics did so well in 1953.
