Leading Screen Comics #58

Leading Screen Comics #58 brings some delightful slapstick energy to DC's 1952 funny-animal lineup, with a potato sack race that's gone hilariously sideways. The cover, drawn and inked by Otto Feuer, shows a cheerful little pig mid-bounce — "SPROINNG!" — having clearly launched himself right out of his sack, while a flustered cat competitor looks on in bewildered dismay with a big "?!" hanging in the air. It's a charming snapshot of wholesome, gag-driven comics that made this era of DC's humor titles so much fun.
