A snow-swept frontier town sets the stage as a sharp-eyed gunman fills the foreground, revolver raised and expression cold as the blizzard swirling around him — while a figure tumbles in the background near what appears to be a post office, telling its own grim story. Borden and Brummond bring a moody, noir-tinged sensibility to the Old West with this Red 5 Comics release, and the wintry atmosphere on this cover alone makes it clear Lead City has something distinct to offer. If you're drawn to Westerns with a harder, more shadowed edge, this 2024 release deserves a place on your shelf.
