Le vent des Dieux #16
Thierry Gioux's cover for this 2004 Glénat album sets an immediately arresting tone: a massive armored warrior in jet-black plate armor, glowing green visor, and spiked mace stands dominant atop a rocky outcrop, silhouetted against a blazing orange sky over an ancient mountainside settlement. The subtitle "Le vieux de la montagne" — The Old Man of the Mountain — lends the image a mythic, almost ominous weight that feels right at home in Patrick Cothias and Gioux's long-running Franco-Belgian adventure series. Volume 16 looks to be a rich, atmospheric entry for fans of the series.
