Part of the sprawling La Légende des Stryges — Époque des Lumières universe, this third volume of Le Siècle des Ombres arrives in 2012 from Delcourt with the evocative subtitle "Le Fanatique." Michel Suro's cover art sets an immediately dramatic tone: a massive tall ship cuts through fiery, amber-lit waters beneath a turbulent sky, while in the foreground a mysterious helmeted or armored head looms half-submerged — an unsettling collision of the seafaring Age of Enlightenment and something far darker. Corbeyran's writing paired with Luca Malisan's warm, moody colors makes this a visually striking entry in one of French comics' most ambitious supernatural sagas.
