Le Samaritain #3
Set against a moonlit Jerusalem night, this third volume of Le Samaritain presents a striking cover — a bearded man draped in desert robes leans close behind a dark-haired woman adorned with golden jewelry, the pale walls of an ancient city glowing softly in the background. The subtitle Bethsabée de Jérusalem promises a story steeped in biblical atmosphere and intimate tension, brought to life through Fred Le Berre and Michel Rouge's richly atmospheric artwork. Published by Les Humanoïdes Associés in 2009, this installment looks like a beautifully rendered entry in a series that takes the ancient world seriously.
