Le lièvre de Mars #3
From Cothias and Parras comes this striking 1995 Glénat entry in Le Lièvre de Mars, and the cover alone commands attention: a man's face is contorted in anguish or shock, his eyes wide and mouth open, as he clutches what appears to be a weathered stone or ancient artifact with both hands, bathed in a dramatic interplay of deep purples, fiery reds, and sickly greens. Parras's painted artwork gives the scene a visceral, almost cinematic intensity that pulls you in immediately. If this cover is any measure, the third volume of this French series is not pulling any punches.
