Un article de Clark Kent dans le Daily Star rapporte que cinq ouvriers sont morts d\Zune chute mortelle sur le chantier du « Atlas Building ». Les ouvriers ne veulent plus travailler sur le bâtiment. Clark décide de mener son enquête sous l\Zidentité de Superman. La nuit, il se rend sur les échafaudages. Alors qu\Zil les examine, il entend grâce à super-ouïe l\Zarrivée du monte charge. Un homme en descend avec une lampe torche alors qu\Zil se dissimule. L\Zhomme s\Zarrête sur une poutre et commence à la scier en monologuant. Un sixième accident aura donc lieu. Mais alors qu\Zil repart Superman se trouve devant lui. Le prenant pour un policier l\Zhomme dégaine un pistolet et tire sur lui. Mais les balles ne font que rebondir. Paniqué, l\Zhomme essaye de battre en retraite. De ce fait, il passe sur la poutre qu\Zil a sciée. Elle se brise et il tombe dans le vide.
