The French-language graphic novel Le joueur de flûte de Hamelin brings together writers Jay Asher and Jessica Freeburg for a dark reimagining of the classic Pied Piper legend, published by Michel Lafon in 2018. Jeff Stokely's cover sets an immediately atmospheric tone, depicting a young woman in a violet dress carrying a lantern and a cloaked figure holding a flute, both standing back-to-back against a shadowy, fog-shrouded forest.
