Le chant des Stryges #8
Season 2 of Le Chant des Stryges opens with a striking cover from Richard Guérineau: a confident, black-clad woman strides forward through a wall of fire, submachine gun in hand, while an enormous, weathered face looms ghost-like in the infernal haze behind her. The tension between that cool, purposeful figure and the chaos engulfing the scene sets the tone perfectly for "Défis" — a title that translates as "Challenges" and clearly means business. Corbeyran, Guérineau, and colorist Ruby were firing on all cylinders in 2004 with this visually arresting entry in the series.
