Lazarus Planet: We Once Were Gods #1
In "Hunger Pains," Raphael Arce awakens to empathic powers after the Lazarus Storm, using them to ease others' pain by absorbing their memories—until one touch changes everything. When he unknowingly takes in Doomsday’s memories, J'onn J'onzz attempts to shield the world by absorbing the trauma, only to find his mind overrun by the creature’s relentless psyche. Written by Dan Watters and illustrated by Max Dunbar, with colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr. and letters by Troy Peteri, this issue’s haunting tone and emotional weight are matched by David Marquez’s striking cover.
