In the alternate future of the Marvel Next world, heroes are mysteriously disappearing through huge craters in the ground. Large creatures in armor seem to be responsible and, when Peter Parker is captured, Spider-Girl and her allies follow them down a hole in the ground where they are surprised to find a large network of tunnels under the city. The rest of the heroes assemble and they begin to search for their missing comrades.
