Last Gasp Comix & Stories #5 brings the adults-only underground anthology back in 1997 with a genuinely unsettling cover by Stéphane Blanquet — a conjoined, polka-dotted figure with two grimacing heads brandishes a knife on a stage, while wide-eyed onlookers recoil in the foreground, all rendered in Blanquet's characteristically distorted, rubbery linework. Inside, Max Andersson contributes "Nature," with every element of the story — writing, art, inking, and lettering — handled entirely by Andersson himself. It's a fine showcase of the kind of fearless, boundary-pushing cartooning that made Last Gasp an essential name in alternative comics.
